TRAILS WEST CHAPTER MEETINGS

Chapter meetings are held 4 times a year either in conjunction with Red Wing Collector Society meetings, at convenient restaurants, or at Chapter members homes.  The winter meeting is held at the Red Wing Mid-Winter Get Together which is moved from location to location every few years.  The summer meeting is held as part of the Red Wing Collector’s Society national convention in Red Wing, MN. The spring and fall Chapter meeting is usually held at one of the members homes and is typically passed back and forth between a Kansas location and a Missouri location.

The meetings consist of a business meeting, a pot luck luncheon, a presentation by one or more Chapter members on a subject of stoneware, or collecting in general.  These presentations can be on anything that may be of interest to the members since we all collect things that may not be stoneware. After the presentation, everyone brings a “show and tell” to show off a recent treasured find, something in their collection that may interest the group, a special advertising piece, or stoneware from one of the other early manufacturers that can be compared to Red Wing.  The meetings usually run about 4 hours long and serve to bring the members together to discuss their collections, finds, and most importantly to renew friendships.  (And, the food is always good!)
